Sega Agrees To Get ‘Angry Birds’ Developer Rovio Leisure For $706M

Movie video game developer Sega Sammy Holdings has announced its intentions to obtain Angry Birds creator and rightsholder Rovio Leisure for €706 million ($776 million).

What is Rovio? Rovio is a sport development enterprise that has built a world franchise out of its immensely prosperous cellular match Offended Birds. There have been multiple animated series and two features. The developer is headquartered in Espoo, Finland.

What are the terms of the offer? As announced by Sega on Monday, April 17, the business will acquire Rovio for €706 million ($776 million) after acquiring acceptance from Rovio’s board of directors. The deal need to close sometime among July and September, pending regulatory approval.
